The Salem College Student Government Association Executive Board recently traveled to Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, for the annual National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Student Government Institute East.
Each summer, NACA sponsors this national student leadership training program designed to assist student governments in the development of strong, effective, student-driven leadership on campus. Attendees learn skills and techniques to help define the role of the student governments as liaisons for students and organizations.
“In addition to representing Salem College through participating in case studies and educational sessions, the Student Government East Institute was a wonderful opportunity for the SGA Executive Board to connect with our counterparts from a wide variety of colleges and universities across the United States,” says Salem SGA President Sara Otero. “The conference provided invaluable insight into how to become a more visible, active, and effective student government.”
