Performance opportunities are vast both on and off the Salem College campus. All Salem College ensembles are open to any member of the student body regardless of major. The primary performance ensembles are as follows:

  • Salem Chorale (non-auditioned choir open to all students at Salem)
  • Salem Chamber Choir (auditioned choir that is dedicated to highly polished performances of the finest repertory for women's voices)
  • SuperTonix (auditioned women's a cappella pop group open to members of the Chamber Choir and Chorale)
  • Pierrettes (Drama Club of Salem College)

Salem College also produces one play and one musical each year with lead roles performed by music students. Recent performances include the following:

  • Little Women
  • Once Upon a Mattress
  • The Drowsy Chaperone
  • Damn Yankees

Winston-Salem—North Carolina's "City of Innovation and the Arts"–offers a wealth of performances in of which Salem students are often eligible to perform including the Winston-Salem Symphony Chorale (large oratorio works performed with the Winston-Salem Symphony), and various large ensembles through Wake Forest University.

There are also numerous off-campus performances of a wide array of genres including those at UNCSA, Wake Forest University, the Winston-Salem Symphony, the new Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, and many others.

Delayed Opening

Salem College will open at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 25. Classes will not meet until 11:00 a.m. and offices will open at 11:00 a.m.
