Winner of the Nautilus Award for Social Change, Anna Lappé’s book Hope’s Edge: The Next Diet for a Small Planet, is co-written with her mother Frances Moore Lappé. It chronicles social movements around the world and addresses the root causes of hunger and poverty. Lappé’s book Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen combines an exposé of industrial agriculture with seasonal menus. Named one of Time Magazine’s “Eco-Who’s Who,” Lappé has been featured in The New York Times, Gourmet and O Magazine among others. Since 2002, Lappé has been collaborating with her mother through their Small Planet Institute as well as operating the Small Planet Fund (which has raised more than $500,000 for social movements worldwide, two of which have won the Nobel Peace Prize). Lappé will explore the connection between the food system and the climate crisis and what we can do about it.
