The Salem College catalog includes the official announcements of academic programs and policies. Students are responsible for knowledge of information contained therein. Although the listing of courses in this catalog is meant to indicate the content and scope of the curriculum, changes may be necessary and the actual offerings in any term may differ from prior announcements. Programs and policies are subject to change from time to time in accordance with the procedures established by the faculty and administration of the College. Scroll down or click here for downloadable copies of current and past catalogs.
Note: All downloadable files are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and require Adobe's free Acrobat Reader Software. The catalog (and supplement, if applicable) for the year in which a student enters Salem College is the catalog which governs the general degree requirements, provided that coursework is completed within eight years of entrance. A student may petition the Subcommittee on Academic Appeals with a request to follow the general degree requirements listed in any subsequent catalog in force during her period of enrollment. Any student who is approved for readmission to the College after an absence of more than one academic year will comply with the requirements of the catalog under which she is readmitted. For major and minor requirements, the governing catalog is the one in effect when the student *declares* the major or minor. Exceptions may be necessary in order to conform with standards of outside accrediting agencies. The 2009-2010 undergraduate catalog introduces a new Salem Signature program, which requires registration for specific courses which may not yet be offered at the time of a student’s enrollment. Students who enroll at Salem with sophomore, junior, or senior standing through Summer 2012 should consult "Degrees and Requirements" section of the current undergraduate catalog to determine the catalog governing their general degree requirements. |

Catalogs are published annually. Prior to 2009, the Salem College undergraduate catalog was published every two years, with a supplement published in alternate years.
