SUMMARY:Ping Fu\: Rising to the Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Growing up in China during the Cultural Revolution of the 
 1960s and 1970s\, Ping Fu watched soldiers murder two of her teachers\
 , lost her parents to re-education camps and suffered abuse for trying
  to rescue her sister from drowning. She was imprisoned during college
  for her research into China’s history of infanticide. After being d
 eported she made her way to the United States. She is now creator and 
 CEO of Geomagic\, a 3-D software company based in North Carolina’s R
 esearch Triangle Park. Honored by Inc. Magazine as “The Entrepreneur
  of the Year” in 2005\, Ping Fu describes herself as an artist and a
  scientist whose chosen expression is business. Since 2010\, Ping has 
 been serving on the NACIE (National Advisory Council on Innovation and
  Entrepreneurship) board at the White House and is a member of NCWIT (
 National Council on Women in Technology.) Reception following talk. Sp
