Salem’s Poet-in-Residence. Reception and book signing will follow event.
Come celebrate the release of Salem’s own Joe Mills’ newest book of poetry, Sending Christmas Cards to Huck and Hamlet, which focuses on books, teaching and writing. His previous collections include Somewhere During the Spin Cycle; Angels, Thieves, and Winemakers; and Love and Other Collisions. Joe Mills is the Susan Burress Wall Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at the North Carolina School of the Arts. “In a voice both rueful and companionable, Joe Mills inscribes through [his] poems the wavering circle of everyday life, the center of which is everywhere and the circumference nowhere—exactly the radius of the human heart.” –John P. O’Grady
Sponsored by the Center for Women Writers.
