SUMMARY:"For Colored Girls"
DESCRIPTION:"For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Ra
inbow is Enuf" is a classic play in the African American literary trad
ition\, and a feminist/womanist choreopoem by Ntozake Shange. The work
emphasizes the strength of sisterhood and of African American women d
eclaring their unique voices as powerful\, beautiful and essential. It
reclaims their most difficult and their most joy-filled experiences a
s truisms about the human experience and reflects the greatest and not
-so-great aspects of humanity. The play’s seven women (in brown\, ye
 llow\, red\, green\, purple\, blue\, and orange) remind the world that
they are perfectly beautiful and wonderfully whole. \n\nThe play was
recently made into a major motion picture by director Tyler Perry. \n\
 n$8 adults\, $5 students with ID. For information\, email maenylie.ree
