Breaking the Silence
Breaking the Silence is a fundraiser organized by Salem students to benefit Family Services.
Salem students are holding a fundraiser to benefit Family Services Inc., a community collaborator for a "Violence Against Women" sociology course taught by sociology professor Krista McQueeney this semester.
There will be spoken-word poetry; presentations by the
Salem Step Team the Ghost Ryders and the Intervarsity Gospel Choir; and other types of artistic, educational and political
awareness-raising against sexual assault and relationship violence.
Admission is $3 and all proceeds go to Family Services Inc. of Winston Salem.
