The Wachovia Historical Society will hold its annual meeting on the Salem Academy and College campus on Tuesday, October 19. A special program that is free and open to the public will be an evening talk by Warren Bingham entitled "He Really Did Sleep in Salem!" on George Washington's Southern tour of 1791. Mr. Bingham is a well-known speaker and writer, and has received positive accolades for his interesting and informative presentations. His talk is particularly timely based on plans for 2011 that include a reenactment of Washington’s visit to Salem.
