Writing Workshop

Center for Women Writers

Salem's Center for Women Writers provides an opportunity for women to express their creativity in conversation and through the written word. The Center encourages participation by all those interested in writing, in various genres of expression, and in publishing their work. Through lectures and readings by acclaimed writers as well as workshops and community courses taught by experienced professionals, Salem students derive first-hand knowledge of the creative process, writing techniques, and the publication process.

Creative Writing Minor
In concert with the Center for Women Writers at Salem College, the College offers courses in creative writing for students interested in using their imaginative talent and skills. A minor in creative writing consists of five courses in the English department: four courses in creative writing and one in literature beyond English 101 and 102, or 103. To obtain a minor, at least three of these courses must be taken at Salem.
