Sally Duran has been a professional harpist in the Piedmont Triad area for 25 years. She holds degrees from NYSU and Salem College in harp performance.
Sally performs regularly with the Greensboro and Salisbury Symphony. She has performed with the North Carolina Symphony, Roanoke Symphony, Piedmont Players, High Point Theater, Greensboro Opera, Piedmont Opera, and South Carolina Opera. She was Principal Harpist concurrently with the Greensboro Philharmonia for 20 years, Johnson City for 15 years and Wilmington Symphony for 8 years. She has been a featured soloist on the Lyceum Academia Series at Winston-Salem State University, the Gilmer-Smith Foundation Series, and the Piedmont Arts Series. Academic Series.
The musical harp duo, "Classical Duran, Duran," has performed widely on the East coast. The Duran Trio for viola, flute and harp ensemble has performed regularly for the last 20 years in the Piedmont area. Sally has recorded seven CD projects for Kindermusik, and has served on the faculty of the Summer Harp Academy for the past ten years.
In addition to her performance schedule, Sally maintains a private harp studio. She is currently President of the Piedmont Chapter of the American Harp Society.
