Amy Knox Brown, assistant professor of creative writing and director, Center for Women Writers, holds a JD and a Ph.D. in English/creative writing from the University of Nebraska. An award-winning writer, she is the author of a short-story collection, Three Versions of the Truth, and a chapbook of poetry, Advice from Household Gods.

Joe Mills, Visiting Writer, 2010-2011

Joe Mills is a visiting writer at Salem College and a permanent faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.  He has written two books of poetry, Somewhere During the Spin Cycle and Angels, Thieves, and Winemakers.  His third collection, Love and Other Collisions, will be released in 2010.  He also has edited the collection A Century of the Marx Brothers and co-written A Guide to North Carolina’s Wineries with his wife, Danielle Tarmey.
