Robert Goolrick is the author of the New York Times bestseller A Reliable Wife, a riveting historical story of love, madness and obsession. It tells the story of Ralph Truitt, a wealthy businessman who advertises for a “reliable” wife; Catherine Land, the deceptive woman who responds; and Antonio Moretti, Truitt’s son. The New York Times Book Review called A Reliable Wife a “suspenseful, psychologically acute gothic tale,” and The Wall Street Journal called it “a buzz-worthy debut novel.” Robert Goolrick grew up in Virginia, attended Johns Hopkins University and then lived in Europe for several years. After many years in the advertising business he wrote A Reliable Wife.
