 a Nettles is an artist\, photographer and author.  She is very well kn
 own in the alternative photography field and has been exhibiting and p
 ublishing her autobiographical works since 1970.  Since that time\, sh
 e has had over fifty one-person exhibitions including the Internationa
 l Museum of Photography at the Eastman House\, the Museum of Contempor
 ary Photography in Chicago\, Light Gallery and Witkin Gallery in NYC. 
  Her works have also been shown internationally in major group exhibit
 ions.  Her images are in over 26 public collections including the Muse
 um of Modern Art\, the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, the National Galle
 ry of Canada\, the Polaroid International Collection\, the Phillips Co
 llection in Washington DC\, the International Museum of Photography at
  the Eastman House\, and the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson
 \, Arizona. Nettles has taught photography to over one thousand studen
 ts since 1970. Her textbook "Breaking the Rules\: A Photo Media Cookbo
 ok" has reached two generations of readers.  She has delivered lecture
 s and workshops internationally and is widely recognized for her innov
 ations in mixed media photography and photographic books.  Free.\nRece
