Celebrating Black History Month and Women's History Month with Beverly Guy-Sheftall

We celebrate Black History Month and Women's History Month with scholar and pioneer in black feminism, Beverly Guy-Sheftall, as she speaks on the state of gender and racial struggles in our society. Guy-Sheftall, Ph.D., is the founding director of the Women’s Research and Resource Center and the Anna Julia Cooper Professor of Women’s Studies at Spelman College. Guy-Sheftall has published a number of texts within African American and women’s studies which include the first anthology on black women’s literature. In 1983 she became founding editor of Sage: A Scholarly Journal on Black Women. Sponsored by the Office of Cultural Events. Reception follows the talk.
