DESCRIPTION:The June Porter Johnson Series for the Visual and Performi
 ng Arts Presents Between Us\: A Studio Showing \n\n\nNow in its 30th
  anniversary season\, the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company was b
 orn out of an 11-year collaboration between Bill T. Jones and Arnie Za
 ne (1948-1988). During this time\, they redefined the duet form and fo
 reshadowed issues of identity\, form and social commentary that would 
 change the face of American dance. The Company emerged onto the intern
 ational scene in 1983 with the world premiere of "Intuitive Momentum\,
 " which featured legendary drummer Max Roach\, at the Brooklyn Academy
  of Music. Since then\, the 10-member Company has performed worldwide 
 in more than 200 cities in 30 countries on every major continent. Toda
 y\, the Company is recognized as one of the most innovative and powerf
 ul forces in the modern dance world.\n\nIn an intimate and informal se
 tting\, the Company will perform works from "Between Us\," a program o
 f duets that reflect intriguing portraits of the relationship between 
 two people. \n\nThis focused evening provides a satisfying look at the
  core of the Jones/Zane style and an overview of the Company’s evolu
 tion. The program will include an early Jones/Zane duet\, a highly ath
 letic pair of duets and another piece from later in Mr. Jones’s care
 er. The Company in known for dancers with diverse personalities and ba
 ckgrounds\; partnering that is unconventional and unexpected\; and a c
 horeographic palette that draws from classical ballet\, postmodern abs
 traction\, and arrangements of gesture and shape influenced by film an
 d photography.\n\nThis event is free of charge\; however\, tickets are
