Salem College has been an integral part of Winston-Salem and the vibrant Piedmont Triad region since its founding in 1772. Whether you are interested in courses on art, wine appreciation or ballroom dancing; intrigued by lectures delivered by noteworthy authors, politicos or activists; or simply want to hear beautiful music performed, Salem has something for you.

  • Courses for Community for classes on new subjects "for fun" or to help you enhance your existing expertise. 

  • Cultural Events include lectures, performances, seminars and other events.

  • Center for Women Writers for exciting workshops and presentations on fiction, short-story and other writing genres.

  • Community Music School (CMS) for a wide variety of age-appropriate lessons on piano, flute and other instruments, all taught in our award-winning School of Music facility.

Inclement Weather

Due to inclement weather, all classes have been canceled and all offices will be closed on Monday, February 15, 2016.

Scholarship Weekend events scheduled for Monday, February 15, will take place in the Single Sisters House.
