Week 1
Hello again,
I am a week in, and I love it! Class is going very well, and I am learning interesting things. My only complaint is that class is too early and too long, but he makes up for it by giving us Friday off. I was finally able to sleep in!!! It is still a lot of work. Because I chose a graded class, there is some work involved. We have a five page paper due every Thursday... it’s not as bad as it sounds though. Once again, it’s only for the month of January.
Besides the academic side of Jan term, there are tons of
opportunities to engage in various activities being sponsored by Salem
or ones you make up yourself. For example, I went to the dodge ball
tournament where sadly Gramley (my residence hall) lost. But it was
certainly balls of fun. On the other hand, we went volunteering at
Crisis Control Ministries and worked in the food pantry. We were able
to properly sort out food for the people who needed it. It was a great
way to spend time with my ladies and give back to my new community.
I hope the rest of the weeks go just as adventurous as this one.
