On the 23rd of Jan we headed towards a beach outside Acapulco. However, when we arrived we saw red flags at the beach because of high tides. Therefore, we didn’t go into the water that day. But we went to the pool of a hotel at the beach and hung out at the pool. To our greatest pleasant surprise, in the evening we saw a whale near the horizon. It came out of the water and flipped a few times. It was amazing! Then we continued with our survey and then in the evening we went to the famous jumping cliff. That was an awesome stunt! After that we headed back to our hotel.
The next morning was our last day at Acapulco. We met for breakfast, checked out of the hotel and then went to the beach for the entire day, one last time! After we reached the beach, each team gave a short presentation about their findings on Acapulco. After that nobody could stop us from going into the water! Then at 4.30 pm we headed on our journey to Mexico City. The next day on the 25 th , we left early for the airport and then landed in NC at 8.30 pm.
Everyone was busy during the next few days writing and preparing their paper about our experiences in Mexico. In our paper, we had to recommend to an American company the possible investment opportunities in Mexico. On 28th Jan, our group met for one last time for the presentation on campus. The end of the presentation marked the end of our Jan Term as well.
In the end, I believe that the expense for this trip was worth every penny. We not only got to go and see places, but also learned about various sectors of the economy and the lectures at UDLAP were invaluable. I would recommend to everyone to take advantage of this opportunity, if it presents itself again next year!!!! It was an awesome trip and I would like to thank Dr. Yoon and Dr. Zenker who were equally fabulous in making my dream come true!
