Basketball volunteers with Main Street Academy
This past week the Salem College basketball team spent the afternoon volunteering with local middle and high school students at Main Street Academy.

Hubbard earns All-South Atlantic Region honors for second time
For the second year in a row, Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-South Atlantic Region Honors. Last year, Hubbard became the 1st Salem athlete ever to earn all-region honors, and she repeated it again this year with a strong junior campaign.
Basketball loses in non-conference game at Methodist
The Salem College basketball team lost for the first time in 5 games tonight as they lost 75-52 at Methodist University. Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) led the Spirits with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Salem falls to 4-2 overall and Methodist improves to 6-2.
2013 Tennis Schedule released by athletic department
The Salem College athletic department has released the 2013 tennis schedule. The team will begin action on February 16th when they host William Peace. Great South Athletic Conference play begins on February 23rd when the Spirits host Huntingdon for a double-header match. Here is the complete schedule:
Softball releases 2013 schedule
Head Coach Scott Long has released the 2013 Salem College Softball Schedule The Spirits will battle Agnes Scott, Covenant, Huntingdon, Spelman, and Wesleyan for the Great South Athletic Conference Crown. The Spirits kick-off action on February 12th when they travel to William Peace in Raleigh. Click below for the complete schedule:
Basketball defeats SVU for fourth straight win
The Salem College basketball team won at home against Southern Virginia, 59-51, for their 4th straight win of the season. Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) had a game-high 19 points for the Spirits. Salem improves to 4-1 overall, and Southern Virginia drops to 2-2.
This Week with Salem Basketball-Week 3
The Spirits went 1-0 this past week to improve their overall record to 3-1. They defeated Warren Wilson, 78-31, in their 1st home game of the season. Jasmine Shabazz (Buffalo, NY) recorded a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Satavia Taylor (Chicago, IL) continues her hot play after being named the Great South Player of the Week in the 1st week of voting.
