Volleyball dominates Spelman for season sweep
The Salem College volleyball team cruised by Spelman in 3 sets on the road (25-14, 25-8, 25-15). The Spirits will wait on the Agnes Scott versus Spelman game this week to see if they will by the number 2 or 3 seed and if they will finished 3rd or 4th in the Great South. The Spirits improve to 11-12 overall and they finish the Great South with a 5-5 record.
Volleyball continues hot streak with split at Covenant
The Salem College volleyball team continued their strong play with a split at Covenant College today. The Spirits lost in 3 sets to the Scots of Covenant (18-25, 21-25, 18-25). They defeated non-conference opponent Judson in 3 sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-18). The Spirits improve to 11-12 overall and fall to 4-5 in the Great South.
Volleyball dominates Piedmont International for 6th straight win
The Salem College volleyball team dominated cross-town rival Piedmont International for the 2nd time this season. The Spirits have now won 6 games in a row. Salem celebrated 2 seniors, Katie O'Leary (Seldova, AK) and Brittany Miller (Hays, NC), in their last home matches. The Spirits improve to 10-11 with the non-conference win.
Volleyball wins 4th in a row against Spelman
The Salem College volleyball team won its 4th match in a row today 3-0 against Spelman. The victory was their 3rd Great South win in a row, and also their straight sweep. Salem improves to 9-11 overall and 4-4 in the Great South.
Volleyball sweeps its way to two conference victories
The Salem College volleyball team swept by Agnes Scott and Wesleyan today in Great South matches at home. The Spirits easily defeated both teams with a 25-14, 25-17, and 25-10 win against Wesleyan and a 25-16, 25-12, and 27-25 win against Agnes Scott. Salem improves to 8-11 with the 2 wins, and 3-4 in the Great South.
Volleyball set to celebrate two seniors next Tuesday
The Salem College volleyball team is set to celebrate two seniors in their final home game October 23rd at 7:00 against Piedmont International. Katie O'Leary (Seldova, AK) and Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) are both 4-year members of the volleyball team. Both seniors are having their best overall seasons this year.
Volleyball earns upset at William Peace
Just over 2 weeks ago the William Peace Pacers came to Salem and swept the Spirits 3-0 on their own court. Salem returned the favor last night by upsetting William Peace on their own floor 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 12-25, 15-13). The non-conference win improves Salem's overall record to 6-11, while Peace falls to 10-15.
Volleyball goes 1-1 in Alabama
The Salem College volleyball team traveled to Alabama this weekend and split 2 matches with Tuskegee and Huntingdon. The Spirits defeated Tuskegee 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-20)
Volleyball splits day against Guilford and Allen
The Salem College volleyball swept Allen University today, but could not avoid the season sweep by the Guilford Quakers today at home. The Spirits fell in 3 sets (21-25, 16-21, 21-25). Salem is currently 4-10 this season.
Volleyball drops 2 home matches to Peace and Covenant
The Salem College volleyball team lost 2 matches at home to Covenant and William Peace. The Spirits lost to Covenant in a Great South match 3-1 (13-25, 25-22, 16-25, 17-25). They dropped a non-conference match to the Pacers 3-0 (14-25, 21-25, 19-25). Salem falls to 3-9 overall and 1-3 in the Great South.
