Volleyball falls in NCAAs to #4 Emory University

Newport News, VA-Playing in their first NCAA Tournament match, the Salem College volleyball team fell to the 4th ranked team in the country, Emory University, in the first round. The match was played at the regional host site of Christopher Newport University. Emory won the match 3-0 (7-25, 9-25, 8-25). Salem ends their season at 14-14, which is the first-time the program has ever finished at .500.
Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 6 kills. Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) had a strong match with 4 kills and 6 digs. Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the team with 9 assists and Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) had 7 digs. Playing in their last match of their career, Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) had 2 digs and Katie O'Leary (Seldova, AK) had 5 digs and 2 kills.
