Volleyball goes 1-1 in Alabama

The Salem College volleyball team traveled to Alabama this weekend and split 2 matches with Tuskegee and Huntingdon. The Spirits defeated Tuskegee 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-20)

roslyndigs1Montgomery, AL-The Salem College volleyball team traveled to Alabama this weekend and split 2 matches with Tuskegee and Huntingdon. The Spirits defeated Tuskegee 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-10, 25-20). They lost in a Great South match to Huntingdon 3-1 (19-25, 16-25, 25-19, 12-25). Salem improves to 5-11 overall, and they drop in the GSAC to 1-4.

In the Tuskegee match, Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the way with 28 set assists and 4 service aces. Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) had 11 kills and Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) had 10 kills. Zy Henderson (Spartanburg, SC) finished with 11 digs, while Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) had 10.

Morgan had 9 kills against Huntingdon to lead Salem. Jones contributed 18 set assists, while Nixon had 3 service aces. Miller led the way with 9 digs.

The Spirits return to the road on the 17th when they head to Raleigh to take on William Peace at 7:00.
