Volleyball earns upset at William Peace

Just over 2 weeks ago the William Peace Pacers came to Salem and swept the Spirits 3-0 on their own court. Salem returned the favor last night by upsetting William Peace on their own floor 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 12-25, 15-13). The non-conference win improves Salem's overall record to 6-11, while Peace falls to 10-15.

Salem returned the favor last night by upsetting William Peace on their own floor 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-18, 12-25, 15-13). The non-conference win improves Salem's overall record to 6-11, while Peace falls to 10-15. 

Salem started out strong winning the first set. William Peace came back to tie the match twice, but Salem proved too much in an exciting 5th and deciding set.

Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) had a huge night with 24 set assists and 16 digs. Brittany Miller (Hays, NC) was strong serving with 4 aces, and on the defensive side with 19 digs to lead Salem. Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 7 kills.

Salem returns to action this weekend with 3 big Great South home matches. They play against Wesleyan, Agnes Scott, and Spelman as they try to improve their tournament seed.
