Volleyball continues hot streak with split at Covenant

The Salem College volleyball team continued their strong play with a split at Covenant College today. The Spirits lost in 3 sets to the Scots of Covenant (18-25, 21-25, 18-25). They defeated non-conference opponent Judson in 3 sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-18). The Spirits improve to 11-12 overall and fall to 4-5 in the Great South.

Lookout Mountain, GA-The Salem College volleyball team continued chelseasettheir strong play with a split at Covenant College today. The Spirits lost in 3 sets to the Scots of Covenant (18-25, 21-25, 18-25). They defeated non-conference opponent Judson in 3 sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-18). The Spirits improve to 11-12 overall and fall to 4-5 in the Great South.

In the match against Covenant, Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) led the Spirits with 26 set assists. Michelle Morgan (Chattanooga, TN) had 12 digs and 6 kills in that match. Roslyn Nixon (Wilson, NC) led the Spirits with 10 kills against the Scots and she also had 2 service aces.

Against Judson, Jones had 31 set assists and 2 service aces. Nixon had 13 kills and Morgan had 10 in the dominant win. Morgan also had 10 digs and so did Brittany Miller (Hays, NC).

The Spirits finish off their conference play tomorrow at Spelman as they try to sweep the season series after defeating them 3-0 at home.
