Murfreesboro, NC- The Salem College Volleyball Team concluded the Chowan Tournament today with a hard-fought loss to Peace College. Salem started the contest with a 31-29 victory over the Pacers. Peace rallied back with three consecutive wins 25-30, 26-30, 22-30.

Whitney Sorenson (Glendale, AZ) had 12 kills, 5 blocks, 16 digs and 1 ace. Christine Tillman (King, NC) had 16 kills, 6 blocks and 1 ace. Katie Lineberger (Maiden, NC) had 11 kills and 8 blocks while Jasmine Gilbert (Fayetteville, NC) had 4 kills and 2 blocks.

According to Head Coach Amanda Ziemba, “The defense play their best of the season today.”

The Spirits will return to action on Wednesday, September 12, as they host North Carolina Wesleyan College at 7 pm in the Spirit Coliseum.
