Salem Jumps Out to Huge Lead in Fall GSAC Presidents' Cup Standings
The Salem College Athletic Department has jumped out to a large lead in the 2012-2013 Great South Athletic Conference Presidents' Cup Standings after the fall season.
Pine Ridge's Chaffers commits to run track and play soccer at Salem
The Salem College track & field and soccer programs are pleased to announce that Victoria Chaffers has committed and deposited to attend Salem next fall. Chaffers ran track for Randy Cutlip and played soccer for Jay Lecruex at Pine Ridge High School in Florida.
Track & Field compete in last meet of season at Radford
The Salem College track & field team competed in their last meet of the season at the Radford Highlander Invitational this weekend against mainly NCAA Division 1 competition. Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) broke the school record for the 5000 meter run in 20:59.63.
Track & Field breaks more records at Furman Invitational
The Salem College track & field team set more school records this weekend at the Furman Invitational in South Carolina. The 4x400 meter relay team of Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA), Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA), Michelle Lawler (Gibsonville, NC) and Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) broke the Salem record with a time of 4:49.41.
Track sets new school records at Wofford
The Salem College track team set several new school records at the Wofford Terrier Relays. The 4X800 relay and the distance medley relay had the highest finishes for the Spirits.
Track competes at Winston-Salem State Relays
The Salem College track and field team broke 2 school records at the Winston-Salem State University Relays this weekend. Ina meet that consisted of NCAA Division I, II, and III teams, Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) broke the schools 800 meter record and Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA) broke the record for the long jump.
Track opens up season with meet at Lenoir-Rhyne
The Salem College track & field team opened up their 2012 meet at the Lenoir-Rhyne Powersox Invitational. Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) finished in 10th in the 400 and 21st in the 800. The meet featured several NCAA Division II programs, and Salem was the only DIII program.
