Volleyball took first place in points after their Great South Tournament upset victory. They went in as the third seed and came out as the champion. "Fall sports were filled with many record breaking accomplishments" says Barrett.

Chelsea Jones (Glade Valley, NC) became the first Salem student-athlete to win a Great South Tournament Most Valuable Player honor in any sport. Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ) won the first-ever Great South Soccer Freshmen of the Year Honors, and Jay Callahan became the first coach at Salem to earn Great South Soccer Coach of the Year honors.

Barrett says "as a college we will celebrate these successes while continuing to build for the future." The Spirits will look to basketball, softball, and tennis to hold their lead and win the overall championship at the end of the year.
