Track finishes up season with strong meet at Radford

Radford, VA-The Salem College track & field team concluded their season with a strong performance at the 2014 Radford Invitational. Heather Huffman (Winston-Salem, NC) had two record-breaking performances in the 100 and 200 meter races. Three seniors also ran in their final collegiate meets.

Huffman broke her own record in both events, and she finished in the top 9 in both races against mainly NCAA DI competition. She ran a 12.66 in the 100 meter race and finished in 7th.

Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA), Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA), and Michelle Lawler (Gibsonville, NC) all competed in their last meets. Olveda ran a 22:00.56 5,000 meter run. Lawler ran 1:07 in the 400 and Hedgecock ran 5:40 in the 1500 meter race.

Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) won the 5000 meter run in 20:07.31. Victoria Chaffers (Deltona, FL) was the top finished for Salem in the 800 meter run in 2:40.
