Huffman runs 15th fastest DIII 100 meter run at Coastal Carolina

Myrtle Beach, SC-The Salem College track & field team ran their second meet of the year this past weekend at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. Heather Huffman (Winston-Salem, NC) broke the Salem record in the 100 meters and finished 35th overall against mainly NCAA Division I and Division II competition.
"We had a good weekend at Myrtle Beach," said Head Coach Jamie Williams. "We are continuing to drop time each week."
"Heather ran a personal best and broke her Salem record with a 12.84 in the 100m. Heather's 12.84 is 15th best reported time in the 100m in NCAA DIII this year (http://www.tfrrs.org/lists/1232.html?gender=f )," said Williams.
Stephanie Verdi (High Point, NC) finished in 21st in the 5,000 meter in 19:59.27. Natali Olveda (Salinas, CA) finished six spots later in 20:32.50.
Williams said, "Stephanie, Natali, and AJ Wierda (Greenville, MI) all had strong runs in the 5000m. "Michelle Lawler (Gibsonville, NC) and Meghan Menard (Hooksett, NH) ran well in the 400."
