Track competes at Winston-Salem State Relays

The Salem College track and field team broke 2 school records at the Winston-Salem State University Relays this weekend. Ina meet that consisted of NCAA Division I, II, and III teams, Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) broke the schools 800 meter record and Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA) broke the record for the long jump.

natalistephWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College track and field team broke 2 school records at the Winston-Salem State University Relays this weekend. In a meet that consisted of NCAA Division I, II, and III teams, Karoline Summerville (Charlotte, NC) broke the schools 800 meter record and Courtney Hedgecock (San Diego, CA) broke the record for the long jump.

Summerville finished in 20th overall in the meet and broke her existing record in the 800 meters in 2:46.09. Cristi Magracia (Lemon Grove, CA) finished in 21st in the 800. 

Hedgecock finished in 15th in the long jump with a 3.90 meter jump. Magracia had the highest Spirit finish of the day in the 1500, where she finished in 7th. 

The Spirits return to the track next weekend at the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, SC on April 7th.
