Tennis loses first two matches of 2013
The Salem College tennis team opened their 2013 season with losses against Spelman and Emory & Henry. The Spirits dropped a 9-0 Great South conference match to Spelman, and a 9-0 non-conference match against the Wasps. Salem falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Great South.

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team opened their 2013 season with losses against Spelman and
Emory & Henry. The Spirits dropped a 9-0 Great South conference match to Spelman, and a 9-0 non-conference match against the Wasps. Salem falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the Great South.
Andrea Akers (Pinnacle, NC) played both number 1 singles and doubles for the Spirits in her 1st collegiate action. She lost (2-6, 0-6) to Lauren Holloway of Spelman and she lost a very close match (6-3, 1-6, 5-10) to Alyssa Wingate of Emory & Henry. Akers teamed with Angela Reavis (Boonville, NC) at number 1 doubles action.
The Spirits play their 1st road match on March 6th at Guilford.
