Tennis wins third straight

andreaakersWinston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team continued their hot play with their third straight win. They easily defeated Greensboro College 7-2 at home. Andrea Akers (Pinnacle, NC) swept number one singles and number one doubles for the second straight match. Salem improves to 3-2. 

Head Coach Kevin Fleck said, "I am proud of the way our team competed and endured different obstacles today. #1 and #2 doubles started and finished very strong. #3 doubles got off to a slow start, but finished playing well and came up just short."

"Our singles continues to be strong and is still improving," said Coach Fleck. "I am very pleased with the effort and progress each player has made week to week.  We have one tough group of ladies for Salem College Tennis. We are eagerly looking forward to tomorrow's match against NC A&T!"

The Spirits will host North Carolina A&T today at 3:00.
