Tennis picks up conference win at Wesleyan

March 31, 2014

Macon, GA-The Salem College tennis team started out Great South conference play in dominating fashion at Wesleyan. The Spirits cruised to a 6-0 victory, in a match that was cut short due to the weather. None of the matches were close as the Spirits dominated singles and doubles. Salem improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the GSAC with the win.

"I am proud of the way our team focused after the long drive and having to adjust to different possible match times due to rain," said Head Coach Kevin Fleck. "We have come a long way since last year's close battles with Wesleyan."

Fleck said, "The team took care of business before the rain ended the formality of the doubles matches.  We have worked hard to get to this point and are excited about continuing to improve!"
