Tennis beats Agnes Scott to capture Great South Regular Season Crown
April 11, 2014
Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team beat Agnes Scott 5-4 at home to sweep the season series. The win clinched the Great South Regular Season Title for Salem, which is their first in school history. Salem improves to 8-4 overall and 3-0 in the GSAC with the win.
"I am extremely proud of the way we competed and handled the pressure of playing a tough opponent with the regular season conference championship on the line," said Head Coach Kevin Fleck.
"Our doubles was very aggressive and the best it has been all season. The second half of our singles line up continued to take care of business and the top half put themselves in a position to win each set. It was great to see a noticeable improvement from even 2 weeks ago when we played Agnes Scott. We are excited to finish the regular season with a double header against Wesleyan!"
