Tennis loses in quarterfinals of Great South Tournament
The Salem College tennis team played in their first ever Great South laurenandamyTournament this week. As the sixth seed, the Spirits lost to the third seeded Scots of Maryville.
2013 Tennis Schedule released by athletic department
The Salem College athletic department has released the 2013 tennis schedule. The team will begin action on February 16th when they host William Peace. Great South Athletic Conference play begins on February 23rd when the Spirits host Huntingdon for a double-header match. Here is the complete schedule:
Mike Hollman takes over Salem College tennis program
Salem College Director of Athletics Melissa Barrett has announced that Mike Hollman will take over the Salem College tennis program. Hollman is very familiar with Salem College. He was the assistant tennis coach for 4 years, and he has worked with the soccer program for the past 5 years. Hollman will immediately take over the program, which went 4-11 overall last year and lost in the Great South quarterfinals.
Tennis loses first match of 2012 on the road
The Salem College tennis team lost their first match of the season on the road to the University of South Carolina Lancaster 9-0. Kerri Morgan (Walnut Cove, NC) played both number 1 singles and doubles for the Spirits in the loss. Salem falls to 0-1 on the season.

The Salem College tennis team lost 8-1 to Columbia College in their second match in South Carolina this weekend. Kerri Morgan (Walnut Cove, NC) won her singles match for the Spirits. Salem falls to 0-2 on the season with the loss.
Tennis storms past William Peace for first win of the season
The Salem College tennis team easily handled William Peace 8-1 yesterday to pick up their first win of the season. Kerri Morgan (Walnut Cove, NC) won both her singles and doubles matches at the number one position. Salem improves to 1-2 this season with the win.
Tennis loses first Great South match of season at Huntingdon
The Salem College tennis team lost on the road in their first Great South match to Huntingdon College 9-0 today. Salem falls to 1-3 on the season with the loss.
Tennis defeats LaGrange on the road in Great South match
The Salem College tennis team picked up an important Great South win at LaGrange 6-3. Cierra Young (Pooler, GA), Carly Neisler (Cramerton, NC) and Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) each won both their singles and doubles matches today. The Spirits improve to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Great South.

The Salem College tennis team lost a non-conference game at King College 5-3. Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) won both her number 5 singles match and her number 3 doubles match. Salem falls to 2-4 with the loss.

The Salem College tennis team dropped a conference match 8-1 to Maryville College. Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) picked up Salem's lone win in the match.

The Salem College tennis team lost their first match at the Hilton Head Island Tennis Festival against Frostburg State University.
Tennis falls in Hilton Head to Coastal Georgia
The Salem College tennis team fell on the road in Hilton Head to Coastal Georgia 6-3. Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) and Carly Neisler (Cramerton, NC) won both of their matches by default. The Spirits fall to 2-7 with the loss.
Tennis celebrates seniors Wisen and Allison against Piedmont
The Salem College tennis team celebrated "Senior Game" for Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) and Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) in a match against Piedmont College. In the Great South match, the Lady Lions defeated the Spirits 9-0. Salem falls to 2-8 overall and 1-3 in the Great South with the loss.
Tennis loses final home match against Covenant
The Salem College tennis team lost their final home match of the season to Covenant College 7-2 in Great South action. Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) picked up a win at number 6 singles in her final home match of her career. Salem falls to 2-9 with the loss.
Tennis earns trip to Great South Tournament with two victories
The Salem College tennis team earned 2 huge victories out of 3 matches on a road trip to Georgia in Great South play. The Spirits earned victories over Spelman (5-4) and Wesleyan (8-1) to earn a spot in the Great South Tournament. The Spirits improved their overall record to 4-10, and their Great South record to 3-6 and earned a fifth seed.
Tennis set to appear in first ever Great South Tournament
The Salem College tennis team is set to appear in their first-ever Great South Athletic Conference Tournament this weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee.
