Tennis loses match at Piedmont

Demorest, GA-The Salem College tennis team barely lost an important Great South Athletic Conference match at Piedmont College, 4-5. The loss eliminates the Spirits hopes of reaching the GSAC Tournament next week hosted by LaGrange. Salem falls to 1-5 in the conference and to 7-6 overall, while Piedmont improves to 4-10 overall.
Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) and Cierra Young (Pooler, GA) won both of their singles and doubles matches. Young won the number five singles match and Allison won the number six singles match, while they teamed together to win the number three doubles match. Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) defeated Amanda Christian in the number two singles match.
The Spirits will conclude their season today when they travel to conference foe Maryville College, and they try to keep their overall record above .500.
