Tennis loses final match against Maryville College

The Salem College tennis team lost their final match of the season to conference opponent Maryville College (7-2). The Spirits played their third game in as many days on a long road trip that took them through Georgia and Tennessee. Salem ends the season with a 7-7 overall record, and 1-6 record in the Great South Athletic Conference where they finished seventh.

The Spirits played their third game in as many days on a long road trip that took them through Georgia and Tennessee. Salem ends the season with a 7-7 overall record, and 1-6 record in the Great South Athletic Conference where they finished seventh.

Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) was able to pick up Salem's only singles win in the number six position. Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) and Olivia Inge (Chesterfield, VA) teamed up to win at the number three doubles slot.

1.        Morgan Douglas (MC) defeated Katherine Elliott (SC) 6-0, 6-1

2.        Maggie Dew (MC) defeated Kim Wisen (SC) 6-0, 6-0

3.        Rachel Hutson (MC) defeated Angela Reavis (SC) 6-0, 6-0

4.        Kelly Stephens (MC) defeated Carly Neisler (SC) 6-0, 6-2

5.        Danielle Nagy (MC) defeated Cierra Young (SC) 4-6, 6-2, 6-0

6.        Amy Allison (SC) defeated Christine Flood (MC) 6-3, 6-2

Doubles:

1.        Morgan Douglas/ Maggie Dew (MC) defeated Katherine Elliott/Kim Wisen (SC) 8-3

2.        Rachel Hutson/Kelly Stephens (MC defeated Cierra Young/Amy Allison (SC) 8-5
