Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College tennis team defeated Greensboro College (6-3) for their first win over the Pride in three years. Rukhsona Usmanova (Durham, NC) continued her dominant play at the number one singles position with a victory against Michelle Lemons (6-3, 6-3). Salem improves to 2-1 this season with the win.

Usmanova was joined by Katherine Elliott (Edenton, NC) at the number one doubles position to pull out a victory against Lemmons and Katie Allegro (8-6). Ashley Bodford (Siloam, NC) defeated Elizabeth Mauze (6-4, 3-6, 11-9) at the number four singles position.

Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) continued her hot play at the number five singles position by beating Rachel Brown (6-2, 6-2). Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) won the number six singles position against Elizabeth Adair (6-0, 6-0). Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) and Lauren Wisen (Madison, OH) teamed up to win the number three doubles match.

Salem returns to action tomorrow when they host conference foe Wesleyan College at 2:00 pm.
