Tennis set to begin 2009 season

Winston-Salem, NC-The 2009 Salem College tennis team is set to begin play this week as they host North Carolina Wesleyan on February 13th at 3:00. The Spirits will also host two more matches in February against Ferrum (February 20th) and Sweet Briar (February 21st). The team is lead by head coach Mariana Hollman (2nd year) and her assistant coach and husband, Mike Hollman.

The Spirits returns several players from last year’s squad. Returning seniors Anna Devoe (Chesapeake, VA) and Katie Martin (Spartanburg, SC) will be counted to lead the team. Juniors Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC) and Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC) will also provide leadership to the young team. Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) is the only returning sophomore on the squad. There are 8 newcomers on this year’s roster.
