Winston-Salem, NC- The Salem College tennis team stormed out of the gate in their first home match of the season by defeating N.C. Wesleyan, 7-1. Michala Michaux (Morganton, NC), Ashley Bodford (Siloam, NC) Tori Collier (Raleigh, NC), and  Kim Wisen (Madison, OH) were all victorius in both their singles and doubles matches. Salem improves to 1-0 on the season, while N.C. Wesleyan falls to 0-1.

Elise Rouse (Wilmington, NC) and Anna Devoe (Chesapeake, VA) won the number one doubles for Salem, 8-3. Rouse would play her first singles match as a Spirit at the number one spot. She fell in a tough match with Jaime Galasso (3-6, 5-7). Devoe, who played the number two spot for Salem, had her match with Leila Heinonen (6-4, 5-7) suspended due to the dark. 

Salem swept all three doubles matches, and their 3-6 singles positions. The team will host Ferrum College on February 20th at 2:00.
