The Great South Athletic Conference has named its women's tennis Players of the Week in singles and doubles with Melody Mitchell (Piedmont), Katherine Elliot (Salem), and Summer Whitener (Salem) all making the list. Mitchell took home the singles honor while Spirits partners Elliot and Whitener were given the league's doubles honors.
The Salem College tennis team finished their series sweep yesterday of Peace with an easy 8-1 victory. Salem defeated non-conference opponent Peace earlier in the season at home. Angela Reavis (Boonville, NC) and Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) each won their singles matches.
Katherine moved from the number two singles spot from last year to the number one spot this season. She is also teaming with Summer Whitener on the number one doubles team. Katherine has helped lead the Spirits to their best start ever with a 4-1 record.

Greensboro, NC-The Salem College tennis team lost 9-0 to Guilford College today. Amy Allison (Geneva, OH) played the closest match for the Spirits at the number six singles position. Salem falls to 1-1, while Guilford improves to 2-1.
