Softball rips Agnes Scott in Game 2 of doubleheader

After dropping game one 13-3 to Agnes Scott, the Salem College softball team stormed back to defeat the Scotties 13-6 in game two. Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) went 4 for 4 in game 02 with 4 runs batted in to lead the Spirits. Salem improves to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in the Great South, while Agnes Scott drops to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the GSAC.

Winston-Salem, NC-After dropping game one 13-3 to Agnes Scott, the Salem softballlineupCollege softball team stormed back to crush the Scotties 13-6 in game two. Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) went 4 for 4 with 4 runs batted in the 2nd game to lead the Spirits. Salem improves to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in the Great South, while Agnes Scott drops to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in the GSAC.

After losing the 1st game on the mound, Allie Watkins (Locust, NC) battled back in the 2nd game to only allow 6 runs and 10 hits in a complete game. 

Lexi Perez (Mount Ulla, NC) had a strong day at the plate going 4 for 6 with 4 total runs batted in. Karson Chapman (Lewisville, NC) and Kristi Morton (Trussville, AL) each scored 3 runs on the day to lead the Spirits. Garner had a home run, 2 singles, and a double in the winning game.

The Spirits return to action tomorrow when they host Randolph College in non-conference action.
