Softball drops two non-conference road games

The Salem College softball team lost a non-conference doubleheader today at LaGrange. The 1st game went into extra innings with the Panthers scoring in the bottom of the 8th for the 8-7 win. The Panthers won 12-4 in a 5-inning 2nd game. The Spirits are now 3-9 overall, while LaGrange improved to 4-0.

LaGrange, GA-The Salem College softball team lost a non-conference doubleheader today at LaGrange. The kristimortonbats1st game went into extra innings with the Panthers scoring in the bottom of the 8th for the 8-7 win. The Panthers won 12-4 in a 5-inning 2nd game. The Spirits are now 3-9 overall, while LaGrange improved to 4-0.

Allie Watkins (Locust, NC) pitched the 1st game for the Spirits and allowed 11 hits. Lexi Perez (Mount Ulla, NC) pitched the 2nd game and allowed 9 hits.

Both Kristi Morton (AL) and Kierston Garner (Danbury, NC) each had a homer today, which were the 1st two of the season for the Spirits. Amber Bass (Clinton, NC) and Kayla Kennedy (Goldsboro, NC) led the Spirits with 3 hits each for the day. Bass, Garner, and Karson Chapman (Lewisville, NC) all scored 2 runs. Morton led the Spirits with 5 runs batted in. 

Salem returns to action next week when they host Agnes Scott in Great South play on March 9th at 1:00.
