Soccer releases 2012 schedule

Coach Jay Callahan has announced the 2012 Salem College soccer schedule. The Spirits will play 18 regular season matches. 10 of those matches will be at the Salem Soccer field, 2 at a neutral site, and 6 on the road.

Coach Jay Callahan has announced the 2012 Salem College soccer schedule. The Spirits will play 10 regular season matches at the Salem Soccer field, 2 at a neutral site, and 6 on the road.

Salem will play 10 Great South Athletic Conference matches. The Spirits finished as the third seed and lost in the semifinals of the 2011 Great South Tournament, 4-3, to the eventual champions, Piedmont College. The Spirits were 11-5-2 overall in 2011, and they were 5-2-1 in the GSAC.

The first regular season game is at home against North Carolina Wesleyan on the first of September. Salem's first road games are against Adrian from Michigan and Johnson and Wales from Rhode Island in the Capital University Classic in Columbus, OH.
