Soccer moves to 3-0 with big win over William Peace

Winston-Salem, NC-The Salem College soccer team cruised to a 9-0 win today at home against William Peace University. The Spirits received goals from 6 different players in the win. Salem moves to 3-0 on the season, and William Peace drops to 1-2.
Sawyer Ferguson (Billings, MT) scored 2 goals in the first 5 minutes of the match. Her first goal was assisted by Nataly Mojica (Dallas, TX) and her second by Tarryn Bundy (West Deptford, NJ). Sataj Johnson scored her first 2 goals and added an assist. Johnson scored in the 19th minute on a penalty kick and then she assisted Mojica 3 minutes later.
Johnson put the Spirits up 5-0 in the 30th minute on an assist by Madison Gurule (Montrose, CO). Gurule finished off the first-half scoring with her first collegiate goal in the 44th minute on an assist by Paige Hamilton (Columbus, OH).
Amber Lee (Summerville, SC) scored twice in the second half off of assists by Kelcie Johnson (Lumberton, NC) and Hamilton. Victoria Chaffers (Deltona, FL) capped off the scoring for the Spirits.
Jessi Carter (Tampa, FL) and Paige Ketchum (Jacksonville, NC) split time in goal for the Spirits to get their 2nd shutout of the season. The Spirits out shot the Pacers 27-2, and each team had 3 corner kicks.
Salem hits the road for the 1st time this season when they travel to Ohio for the Fort Rapids Tournament hosted by Capital University. The Spirits will play Central Region ranked Adrian College of Michigan on Friday.
