Soccer drops first game of the season against Adrian
The Salem College soccer team hung with Adrian College of Michigan for 38 minutes before Adrian exploded for a 5-0 win. Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) did a great job of shutting out NCAA DIII All-American, Sam Barker of Adrian, but Erin Weide scored a hat-trick to lead the Bulldogs to the victory. The Spirits drop to 3-1 and the Bulldogs improve to 2-0.

Columbus, OH-The Salem College soccer team hung with Adrian College of Michigan for 38 minutes before Adrian exploded for a 5-0 win. Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) did a great job of shutting out NCAA DIII All-American, Sam Barker of Adrian, but Erin Weide scored a hat-trick to lead the Bulldogs to the victory. The Spirits drop to 3-1 and the Bulldogs improve to 2-0.
Weide scored two goals in the last 6 minutes of the first half to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead at the half. Adrian was able to score their next 3 goals in the middle of the 2nd half. Adrian out-shot Salem 22-5.
The Spirits return to action Sunday in Columbus against Johnson and Wales of Rhode Island.
