Soccer falls on road 1-0 to Covenant

The Salem College soccer team dropped their first Great South loss of the season on the road to Covenant College 1-0. The Scots scored an early goal and held on for the win. Salem falls to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the GSAC, while Covenant improves to 8-1-1.

Lookout Mountain, GA-The Salem College soccer team dropped their first Great South loss of the season on the road to Covenant College 1-0. The Scots scored an early goal and held on for the win. Salem falls to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the GSAC, while Covenant improves to 8-1-1. 

The game was a tale of 2 halves with Covenant controlling the first and the Spirits controlling the second. Mo Cross scored on a cross that found the back of the net in the 11th minute. Salem fought hard in the second half for the equalizer, but they couldn't find the back of the net.

The two teams will meet again on October 16th at Salem. The Spirits return home after 6 straight road games, when they host Warren Wilson on Monday.
