North Davidson High's Huffman commits to play soccer at Salem

The Salem College soccer program is pleased to announce that Heather Huffman has committed and deposited to attend Salem next fall. Huffman, a defender, played soccer for Coach Greg Beal and Coach Mike Elder at North Davidson.

heatherhuffmanhighLexington, NC-The Salem College soccer program is pleased to announce that Heather Huffman has committed and deposited to attend Salem next fall. Huffman, a defender, played soccer for Coach Greg Beal and Coach Mike Elder at North Davidson.

The Salem soccer team is coming off an 11-5-2 season, and their third straight trip to the Great South Athletic Conference semifinals in 2011. The program currently has 3 straight 10 win seasons, and they have a 38-15-3 record over that span.

Huffman played 4 years of varsity soccer for the Knights. In her first 3 years, she was a 3-time Central Piedmont 4A All-Conference selection. She has also been the Knight's most valuable player, defensive player of the year, and freshmen of the year.

She played club soccer for Triad Elite and Coach Brad Franks this year, and she previously played for the North Davidson Sidekicks. Huffman was also the manager of the boy's soccer team. She is the daughter of Leigh Huffman and Mark Huffman.

Salem College is a NCAA Division III institution located in Winston-Salem, NC. Salem is the oldest educational institution for women in the United States, and was founded in 1772. The institution boasts a proud history of fostering independence in women.
