Stephanie Hubbard (Sanford, NC) became the first student-athlete from Salem to ever receive All-South Region Honors for her play this season with the soccer team. She was selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) NCAA Division III South Atlantic Third-Team. The NSCAA South Atlantic Region stretches from New Jersey to Mississippi.
The Salem College soccer team was awarded the 2011 Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). To receive this honor, a soccer team must have above a 3.0 cumulative grade point average for an entire school year (2010-2011).

Salem celebrated their 3 senior captains in the win. They improve to 10-4-2 with the win, and finish their Great South play with a 5-2-1 conference record.
Closing out the final week of competition before conference championships, the Great South Athletic Conference announces the final Player of the Week awards for the fall season. Jessie Jakes from Covenant College for volleyball, Anna Trakas of Salem College for women's soccer, Sidney Smith of Piedmont College for men's soccer and Holli Abernathy of Piedmont College for women's cross country rounds out this week's award winners.

The win secures Salem as the #3 seed in the upcoming Great South Athletic Conference Tournament (GSAC). Amanda Orsino (Sauquoit, NY) scored two goals and added an assist in the victory. The Spirits improve to 9-4-2 overall and to 4-2-1 in the GSAC.
